Schrader Joins President Biden to Celebrate the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

19

U.S. Congressman Kurt Schrader (OR-05) issued the following statement after joining President Biden and members of the Oregon delegation to celebrate the transformational investments secured in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law:

“It was an honor to welcome President Biden back to Oregon to celebrate a signature, lifetime achievement in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law,” Rep. Schrader said. “It was a pleasure to work with the President and his team to get this across the finish line to deliver the largest investment in infrastructure in American history. This landmark legislation provides our communities here in Oregon with the federal funding to make the long dream of the interstate bridge on I-5 a reality, the 205 Abernathy bridge and lane widening project more real, and will also allow the Oregon Department of Transportation to completely upgrade the hazardous Aurora Donald interchange on I-5 between Portland and Salem over the next few years. A key element that I worked hard for is western water storage and wildfire mitigation, which will help protect our communities against wildfires. I am also proud of the funding I helped secure to ensure that everyone in the 5th district, from the Coast all the way to Central Oregon, can access affordable, reliable high-speed broadband. Additionally, this legislation will invest millions of dollars to help our communities mitigate climate change and natural disasters with forest management and water projects that will make for a healthier forest and put Oregonians to work.”
