On April 28, 2023, Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (D-Tigard) issued the following statement on H.Res.311, a bill encouraging the expansion and strengthening of the Abraham Accords:

“The United States and Israel have a unique and mutually beneficial relationship rooted in our shared values. This partnership has grown and strengthened for seven decades, remaining ironclad under various presidents and prime ministers, as well as myriad geopolitical challenges. I voted in favor of H.Res. 311 in honor of that partnership. However, I firmly believe that the U.S. has a responsibility to serve as an honest broker between Israelis and Palestinians to achieve a peaceful end to hostilities through a two-state solution. Neither people will – nor should – abandon their historic homelands. So it’s imperative that we support efforts to establish two viable states that can live side-by-side in peace and security.”
