An absolute masterpiece of a game was on deck this evening for the (RV) Corban University Men's Basketball team (8-3, 4-1), as the Warriors pummeled the visiting Wolves of Walla Walla University (0-9, 0-5) for their largest point spread (66) and total point marks of the 2022-23 season, downing the visitors 104-38 on Tim Hills Court.

"Tonight was another stellar defensive performance from our guys. They did a great job of communicating and locked into the game plan," Corban Head Coach Taylor Kelly stated earlier this evening.

"The consistent stops led to great transition into the offensive end and we shared the ball really well. I'm proud of the strides our group is making and look forward to seeing our group max out," Kelly continued.

While the Wolves were actually able to hold the first lead and battle back to within three points midway through the first half, the rest of this contest was all Warriors, as multiple huge runs gave them all the advantage they needed to pull away in the final minutes of the opening half. Corban ended the first 20 minutes of play on a 21-2 run, with the Wolves only bucket from the 8:33 mark coming on a buzzer beating jumper in the paint off a fastbreak.

Warriors' senior forward Darius Henderson did a majority of his heavy lifting in the first half, as he secured a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double in just 12 minutes played before adding to it in the second period of play. Junior guard Collin Warmouth complimented Henderson with 12 points, hauling in a pair of rebounds and dishing out a pair of assists in limited time as well.

The Warriors opened the second half with another lop-sided advantage on the offensive end, outscoring the Wolves 22-1 before the first made Walla Walla field goal coming over six minutes into the half. Corban eventually pulled the entire starting lineup with over 13 minutes still to play, where the reserves tallied an additional 22 points of margin to earn the 66-point victory on their home floor.

Eleven different Warriors scored tonight for the Navy and Gold, with four of them reaching the double-digit marks and two more scoring nine points apiece. Corban held the advantage in every statistical category, including an impressive 48-18 points scored in the paint. Additionally, the Warriors scored on 56.5% of their field goals with 39 made baskets, their highest single-game team marks on the season thus far.

Defensively, Corban held Walla Walla to converting on only 24.5% of their field goal attempts, which is a season-low for the Warriors to allow an opponent on their own attacking end of the floor. 38 total team points will also set the season record for least amount of points allowed by this developed Corban defense, as their constant pressure and key plays quickly put their opponents in tough scenarios.

Henderson completed his evening with game-high marks in both scoring (20) and rebounding (13), marking his fourth double-double of the season and third-straight in the last two weeks of action. Warmouth added 19 points and seven rebounds in his impressive outing, while senior forward James Carlson came off the bench to add 17 points and five boards.

Walla Walla guard Andrew Vaughan scored a team-high 16 points as the only member of the team to find consistency on the offensive end of the court, adding four rebounds to his totals this evening. Fellow teammate and guard Ethan Ford earned 18 minutes in a reserve role to secure seven points and six boards as well.

The Warriors will now break for the holiday season, earning themselves a well-deserved Christmas break before heading north to CCC opponents Northwest University and The Evergreen State College on December 30th and 31st, respectively.
