"It's great to continue being ranked among the top teams in the NAIA," Warriors' Head Coach Tim Kagey shared earlier today. "We're looking forward to the postseason beginning next week at the CCC Tourney."
The Warriors completed their 2022 regular season with a 2-0 shutout of the Bushnell University Beacons at Civic Park in Eugene, Oregon this past Saturday, marking their 14th shutout of the season. With the CCC finale under their belt, Corban Men's Soccer wraps up conference play at No. 3 in the standings, finishing exactly where the CCC Preseason Coaches' Poll had them predicted to complete the regular season.
Corban will complete the regular season as the No. 2 team in the entire NAIA in goals against average at 0.28 on the season, leading the next CCC school by nearly half their season total. With an experienced defensive line and goalkeeper in the net, the Warriors held an NAIA-best 14 shutouts on the regular season.
Graduate student goalkeeper Quinn McCallion earned his fifth Defensive Player of the Week award this past Monday, making him the first student-athlete in CCC history to win the award five times in a single season. His 14 shutouts, 0.28 GAA, and 0.875 save percentage all lead the conference, while his shutouts rank first, his GAA ranks second, and his save percentage ranks seventh in the giant pool of NAIA student-athletes.
The No. 25 Corban Men's Soccer team will open the Quarterfinals of the CCC Tournament this upcoming Monday, November 7th, at 8pm PDT in Springfield, Oregon. The tourney will be hosted by Bushnell University at Les Schwab Sports Park through Wednesday of next week, with the Tournament Championship moving to Civic Park on Friday.
