The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the WVT Laboratory CCC Players of the Week on Monday morning, where the Corban University Men's Soccer team once again swept the award stand, as sophomore midfielder Alexis Luna took home Offensive Player of the Week honors, while graduate student goalkeeper Quinn McCallion earned the Defensive Player of the Week award for the second time in as many weeks.

"It's great to see two of our captains recognized this week for their performances," Warriors' Head Coach Tim Kagey shared when asked about Luna and McCallion's awards.

This past week, Corban Men's Soccer played their first road regular season contest of the year on Wednesday at cross-town rival NCAA DIII Willamette University, where they blew away the Bearcats in a 3-0 victory. To finish out the week of play, the Warriors hosted NAIA Soka University of America at the OAC, where they handled the Lions with ease 5-0.

"Alexis is one of the hardest working players I've coached, and I'm glad to see him receive the recognition for his efforts," Kagey said about his captain in the middle of the field.

Luna had his hands in the win over the Bearcats by scoring the second of three total goals in the contest, but showed up in an even bigger way against the Lions. He tallied a brace (two goals) and added two assists in the blowout with over Soka. He currently ranks third in the CCC in both goals scored (3) and assists (2).

"Quinn has been such a steady force for us in the net. He is very calm and determined to help the team succeed. I'm glad to see him receive this award for the second time this year," Kagey shared on his graduate student in the net.

McCallion continued his streak of shutouts with two more against the Bearcats and Lions, growing his perfect record to 4-0 on the season with not a single goal allowed. He leads the CCC in save percentage (1.000), shutouts (4), shutouts per game (1.000), and goals against average (0.000).

Luna, McCallion, and the Warriors will take the field once again this upcoming Thursday, September 8th, as they host Bethesda University of California in their final non-conference bout before CCC play begins.
