"What an honor to be ranked number one in a tough and rigorous CCC!" Warriors' Head Coach Kim McLain shared.
"We are looking forward to the challenge. We know we must put in the work and be prepared to battle it out on the court against other very talented teams in our conference," McLain went on to say.
The Warriors are coming off their most successful season in program history, reaching the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Final Site for the 7th consecutive season, and setting numerous program and conference records.
The 2021 season ended for the Warriors at 30-3 overall, marking the first time since 1997 that Corban has reached 30 wins in one season, and set the all-time record for winning percentage (.909). At the conference level, Corban's 20-2 final record set the all-time most wins in a single season for any Cascade Collegiate Conference team.
The Navy and Gold completed the 2021 season ranked No. 11 in the final NAIA Coaches' Top-25 poll, and look to defend the No. 1 overall CCC selection this upcoming fall. With five of six starters from 2021 set to return to the 2022 lineup, Warrior fans can expect more of the same results this upcoming year.
Eastern Oregon (26-9 overall, 19-3 in conference in 2021-22) follow the Warriors in the CCC preseason poll, collecting 127 points in total. The Warriors and Mountaineers square off on the opening night of CCC play, Friday, September 2nd on Tim Hills Court.
Oregon Tech (24-8, 18-4) trailed the Mountaineers by just 6 points in the poll, landing the Owls securely at 3rd place, with Bushnell (102), Northwest (85), and College of Idaho (77) rounding out the top-six vote getter.
The top-six teams from the 2022 regular season standings will earn a place in the CCC Tournament at the end of the year, which is scheduled to begin on November 11th.
