Click It or Ticket is a statewide campaign that ran from May 23rd through June 5th. This is a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration event that is supported by grant money that was awarded to Hubbard Police Department to enforce and educate drivers on the importance of buckling up and using the appropriate safety seats and restraints for children.
During the campaign Hubbard Police Officers conducted 100 traffic stops that resulted in 58 citations for various violations to include driving while suspended, no insurance and speeding. There were no citations issued for seatbelt violations. This is good news and shows that these campaigns do positively contribute to drivers and their passengers using seatbelts.
