Graduates earn 39 degrees, certificates from Mount Angel Seminary

About 51.3 percent of the 39 degrees and certificates handed out by Mount Angel Seminary in 2017-18 were to students in philosophy and religious studies programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Benedict conferred 14 bachelor's degrees and 6 master's degrees in philosophy and religious studies programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in "other" philosophy and religious studies. Data shows the school gave out 14 bachelor's degrees in "other" philosophy and religious studies, followed by 10 master's degrees in divinity/ministry and 6 master's degrees in philosophy.

The seminary enrolled 165 students for 2017-18, including 40 in undergraduate programs and 125 in graduate programs.
