David Brock Smith, a public official and candidate for federal office, used his Twitter account in mid-May 2026 to share campaign endorsements and voter information ahead of an upcoming election.
On May 15, 2026, Smith posted a message highlighting support from another legislator: “Having worked with David over the last several years, he’s proved that he is a skilled legislator and thoughtful conservative. We need his voice in Washington,” Representative Boshart Davis.
In subsequent days, Smith focused on informing voters about ballot submission deadlines. On May 17, 2026, he wrote: ” Time to Vote As I posted earlier this week, it is to late to USPS mail your ballot to be sure it’s post marked by Election Day, Tuesday May 19th! Please use this link to find your closest official ballot drop box, for your ballot to be picked up by county election https://t.co/aoGMXRnYoM”. He reiterated this message on May 18, stating: ” Time to Vote As I posted yesterday, it is to late to USPS mail your ballot to be sure it’s post marked by Election Day, Tuesday May 19th! Please use this link to find your closest official ballot drop box, for your ballot to be picked up by county election officials and https://t.co/WuVqnEEOcW”.
Oregon conducts its elections primarily by mail-in ballots. Voters are required to ensure their ballots are either mailed in time or deposited at designated drop boxes before the deadline. Public officials frequently remind constituents about these procedures as elections approach.
