David Brock Smith, a political figure in Oregon, has used his Twitter account to highlight the importance of natural resource industries and community engagement as he campaigns for the U.S. Senate.

On May 13, 2026, Smith emphasized his commitment to Oregon’s producers and outlined his campaign goals: “Our natural resource industries are critically important to Oregonians. I have been on the front lines with our producers from across the state, and will grow our efforts from the U.S. Senate. I humbly ask for your vote. We have the team, plan and path to not only beat Merkley,” he wrote.

The following day, on May 14, 2026, Smith shared his experience meeting with constituents in Canby: “I enjoyed the opportunity to join my colleagues and have some wonderful conversations with folks in Canby. Oregonians are ready to retire Merkley and Kotek! We can do this and together, we will build a better Oregon, and a stronger, safer, more prosperous Nation.”

Later that same day, Smith addressed issues facing coastal communities: “Our Oregon Coast communities, residents and their industries are special for all Oregonians from across the state. We have unique challenges, and the Oregon Legislative Coastal Caucus works together to address these issues head on. From environmental for profit nonprofits attacks”.

Smith’s recent posts come as he seeks support in an election year where incumbent Senator Jeff Merkley is running for re-election. The campaign also references Governor Tina Kotek as a political opponent. Both figures have held prominent roles in Oregon politics.
